Finally, the guys from the Japanese brand Nissan presented information about the new version of their fully ecological model LEAF. The novelty, called the E-Plus, boasts a rechargeable battery with a higher capacity, as a result of increased power reserve, as well as more motor power.
The official presentation of the electric vehicle was held at the CES-2019 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas (USA).
It is reported that the Nissan LEAF E-Plus will be offered in three trim levels – LEAF S PLUS, LEAF SV PLUS and LEAF SL PLUS. Ecological innovation will be on sale in the US in spring 2019, and it will reach Europe in the middle of this year. Price data not yet available.
For the new version of the popular electric car, Nissan engineers prepared a 62 kWh battery. Due to this, the power reserve increased to 364 km (measurements were carried out according to the EPA standard). I note that the usual version of the model, which is without a plus, has a battery of only 40 kWh. It is noteworthy that the size of the battery remained almost unchanged, but nothing was said about its weight.
The Nissan LEAF E-Plus also received an increase in engine power by 36%. Previously, this figure was 110 kW (149 hp), and now 160 kW (217 hp). Torque also got a little higher. On assurances of the guys from Nissan, LEAF E-Plus will receive improved acceleration.
