Nissan Qashqai gets the Midnight EditionOctober 29, 2020
Nissan has announced a new variant of the popular Nissan Qashqai in a special edition ahead of its mid-November launch and ahead of an all-new model launch late next year.
Based on the redesigned 2020 Nissan Qashqai launched in February, the 2020 Nissan Qashqai Midnight Edition follows previous special editions of the small SUV, including the N Sport and N-Tec. Priced from $ 35,900, the Midnight Edition sits between the mid-range ST-L variant and the flagship Ti.
Key dark-themed highlights include tinted exterior details such as the headlights and taillights, a high-gloss black V-grille, high-gloss black 19 ” Black Wind alloy wheels with 225/45 tires, and high-gloss black bumper surfaces, side moldings, roof rails and mirror housings.
Other Midnight additions include a matching exterior bumper, plastic wheel arches and side skirts, LED headlights with adaptive front lighting, illuminated front door sill trims, auto-folding mirrors and a Midnight badge at the rear. Five colors are available for the body: bright blue, pearl ivory, metal gun, red magnet and black pearl.
The interior highlights the unique black leather trim with Alcantara, as well as the black headliner and a combination of gloss and matte black interior inserts. While the front seats are devoid of heating and additional adjustments in the ST-L versions in the Midnight Edition, the model carries features such as autonomous emergency braking (AEB), lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert and 360 degree camera with detection of moving objects.
The infotainment system is in line with the updated Nissan Qashqai, including a 7.0-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android automatic connectivity, satellite navigation, digital radio, Bluetooth and voice recognition.
There are no mechanical changes, which means the Midnight Edition is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine producing 144 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT and front-wheel drive just like the rest the Qashqai line.
