Nissan plans to make the following model Z-series into crossoverOctober 17, 2016
Since the Gripz concept was to take Z gene family, it can also be a preview of the future model Z.
Actually, even before Nissan introduced him in 2015 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, there were various rumors that the next Z will be a crossover coupe instead.
For the edition Car Advice chairman of Nissan Europe, Paul Wilcox, responded to a question about would that model be a crossover: “This is a good question. I can not comment. I think the important point is that what is the part of the Nissan brand? And I think that the dynamic characteristics are part of this heritage. I would not rule anything or exclude anything, but we do not comment on future products.”
Wilcox continued and noticed that Nissan is committed to focus its strategy on the growing segments, and do not fill all the existing niche.
“The risk is to pursue every segment of the market. I have a product line managers, who come to me and want the product in each segment. We must be absolutely convinced that what we do will be in demand … we are not looking for massive fragmentation.”
One thing is certain, the Japanese automaker is going to focus on crossovers, on the basis of summarizing Paul Wilcox: “Having more products, perhaps including Nissan has made some mistakes. So now that we are going to concentrate on such vehicles as crossovers, and we have the right products to complement this segment.”
