The Japanese company received the award “Chairman of the Association for the Promotion of Machines” for the creation of a serial power unit with variable compression ratio “VC Turbo”.

“VC Turbo” is the first serial engine in the world that allows you to freely switch the compression ratio using a unique crank mechanism. In addition to suppressing vibration of the power unit using the same crank mechanism, the balancing shaft, which was needed for these purposes, was excluded, which made it possible for one eccentric shaft to control all cylinders, while at the same time maintaining a low motor height.

It should be emphasized that awards for car promotion are received by corporations, universities and research institutions, which are recognized to have contributed to the development of engineering technologies, assisting research and development, as well as the commercialization of results for the further development of technology in the automotive industry.

As emphasized, the purpose of the award is to promote the development of mechanical engineering in Japan.
