Nissan Kicks will have a different designAugust 21, 2018
Crossover Nissan Kicks debuted in 2016, it is already sold in Brazil, Mexico, China, the US, Canada and Argentina. In 2019, the SUV will appear in India, and there will be offered a cross, which will differ from the global model. So, if in other countries Kicks is represented, built on platform of the V alliance Renault-Nissan (it also underlies, for example, the current Nissan Note and Pulsar), the Indian crossover was transferred to the platform B0, which is based on Renault Duster, the local version of Renault Captur and Nissan Terrano (“twin” Duster). The first photos from the tests designed for the India version were published in early August, but now the network posted a video with the “other” Kicks.
In the video, we see a car with a different grille – with vertical wedges instead of “dots” in the global SUV. However, it is possible that this is only part of the disguise. Also, the Indian version of Nissan Kicks has other rear doors and exterior mirrors. In the cabin – a multimedia system with a touchscreen above the front panel, whereas in the crossover presented in other countries the screen is built into the panel. According to preliminary information, the Indian Kicks will be larger than the global model, but the exact dimensions are still unknown. The dimensions of the crossover available in other markets: length – 4,295 mm, width – 1,760 mm, height – 1,590 mm, wheelbase – 2,620 mm.
It is expected that in India the novelty will be equipped with motors from local Renault Duster / Captur – gasoline engine H4K 1.5 with a power of 106 hp. and diesel K9K 1.5 dCi with a return of 110 hp. In China, Nissan Kicks can be bought with an atmospheric 1.5 family HR with 125 hp, in North America and the South American market the model is available with a 1.6 petrol engine of the same HR series (114-125 hp depending on the country) . Drive the global cross – only the front. The Indian Kicks also, probably, will have only a front-wheel drive version, although the platform B0 and admits the presence of a 4×4 version.
Production of Kicks for India will be adjusted at the local Nissan plant (the crossover is still being assembled in Brazil, Mexico and China). It is possible that the official premiere of the model will be held this year.
