Nissan Kicks crossover will get a hybrid versionDecember 25, 2018
SUV will turn into an electric car with a “extension of the course”
A small crossover Nissan Kicks, produced in Brazil, will soon receive a hybrid version of the e-Power with a consistent type of powerplant. The wheels of the car will be driven by an electric motor that is powered by a battery — and the internal combustion engine charges it.
According to the Brazilian edition of Notícias Automotivas, this version will appear in 2019 or 2020. A similar system is already used on the Nissan Note e-Power hatchback for the Japanese market. He has an electric motor from a hatchback Nissan Leaf with a capacity of 109 horsepower installed on the gearbox and rotates the front wheels, and the 1.2 1.2-cylinder three-cylinder engine operates in generator mode and charges the battery with a capacity of 1.5 kilowatt-hours.
Under the assumption of the Brazilian journalists, Nissan Kicks e-Power will receive the liter engine which is already put on small Nissan March hatchbacks and locally made Nissan Versa sedans. Moreover, as with these cars, the engine will be in dual-fuel performance – that is, consume both gasoline and ethyl alcohol (this fuel is popular in Brazil).
A small crossover Nissan Kicks created on the platform of the V from the hatchback Nissan Micra. Now it is produced by enterprises in Mexico, Brazil, China and Malaysia. In many markets, Kicks replaced the Juke model: it is sold in the USA, Canada, Latin America, and many Asian countries.
