The Japanese automaker demonstrated the 2020 model year car, which is now not the cheapest car in the United States.

The new Nissan Versa is now not the cheapest car in the United States. This honor goes to the Chevrolet Spark LS with a price of $ 13,220.

A compact sedan Nissan Versa (subcompact by the standards of the United States), designed for North America, has changed generation. It has become more technologically advanced not only in appearance. The car borrowed some elements from the Nissan Kicks crossover. That, however, uses the same Nissan V platform as the Versa of the previous generation, perhaps a bit modernized.

The sedan has only one engine – an atmospheric 1.6-liter unit that develops 124 hp and 155 Nm (+14 hp, +10 Nm relative to its predecessor), which can be combined with an improved Xtronic variator or with a 5-speed manual transmission.

A new Nissan Safety Shield 360 safety system has appeared on the model. By default, it includes automatic braking with pedestrian detection and braking when driving in reverse, tracking markings, and automatically switching high beams.

For an additional fee, the listed set can be expanded by monitoring the “blind spots” and lateral traffic at the rear, intelligent cruise control and tracking driver fatigue. The model will cost the Americans $ 14,730. For this money, the buyer will receive a basic Versa S with a five-speed manual gearbox. Nissan’s latest continuously variable transmission costs an additional $ 1,670 in addition to this. The SV model with a CVT costs $ 17,640, and the sports version of the SR with the same transmission costs $ 18,240.
