The Japanese brand has announced some updates for its compact model Nissan Micra. It is about the appearance of a “charged” version of the Nissan Micra N-Sport, two new engines and an automatic transmission XTronic CVT.
According to official data, a completely new 1.0-liter IG-T 100 power unit will be available for the Japanese car, which will replace the 0.9-liter counterpart by 90 forces. The new engine boasts 100 hp performance. (torque equal to 160 Nm). The guys from Nissan also declare a reduction in CO2 emissions and improved fuel economy.
The new engine will work with a 5-speed manual gearbox, but Nissan will also offer the XTronic CVT automatic transmission as an exclusive option.
As for the new Micra N-Sport, the “charged” version of the model, representatives of Nissan say that it is the most sporty representative of the family, who received an updated chassis and a new engine.
Under the hood will be a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder DIG-T unit with 117 hp turbocharging. and a torque of 180 Nm, associated with the “performance-oriented” 6-speed manual transmission. This motor is designed with the participation of engineers of the German concern Daimler.
The sporty version of the model will also receive a 10 mm higher ground clearance, other suspension settings and faster steering to make the Micra more agile and dynamic.
Sales of the new Nissan Micra are expected to begin in February, with the new N-Sport competing with models such as the Ford Fiesta ST-Line, VW Polo R-Line, and Seat Ibiza FR-Line.
