Nissan has not yet decided on the engine for the new GT-R R36August 23, 2019
While the company is not going to remove the current version of the GT-R R35 from sales, but work on a successor is already underway, albeit in the initial stage. While engineers and managers are considering the very concept of a new generation, as well as weighing all the options for the power unit.
Nissan is in no hurry to present the successor to its GT-R sports car. Sales of the current version of R35 are still going at a good level, but thoughts on working on a new generation are already beginning. However, the company still has many problems that need to be addressed, and one of them is the engine.
Nissan spokesman Hiroshi Tamura, chief specialist for GT-R products, was present at the recent launch in Australia of a 50-year limited line of Nissan GT-R and 370Z models. As part of this event, foreign colleagues managed to ask him several questions about the new generation Nissan GT-R R36:
“We are thinking about it, but so far the issue is not in design. We cannot disclose the details so far, but the first renderings are ready, ”he said.
Hiroshi Tamura never answered whether the new GT-R would be hybrid or fully electric. And judging by his answers, it will take a long time to wait for the novelty.
