Nissan first introduced Leaf Nismo RC electric car in EuropeJanuary 21, 2020
Nissan’s competence as a world leader in electric vehicles and the experience gained over many years of participating in top-level races have merged together in the Nissan Leaf Nismo RC – an impressive example of the symbiosis of power, innovation and admiration for Nissan’s electric vehicle technology.
The all-wheel-drive Leaf Nismo RC has twice as much power and torque than its predecessor, based on the first-generation Leaf, introduced in 2011. With 322 bhp power and 640 Nm of torque, LEAF NISMO RC shows lightning acceleration, reaching speeds of 100 km / h when starting from a standstill in just 3.4 seconds.
The latest Leaf Nismo RC is not just a show car. It also acts as a testing ground for future evolutions of electric vehicle technology and expresses the limitless potential of Nissan electric vehicles. He explores what an all-electric all-wheel drive four-wheel drive platform can offer and reflects Nissan’s commitment to continually improving and developing its electric vehicles, addressed to drivers around the world.
The Leaf Nismo RC and the Leaf Road, the world’s most popular electric car with over 450,000 sales since 2010, use the same advanced technology. At the same time, Leaf Nismo RC first touched European asphalt on the Ricardo Tormo highway in Valencia, Spain.
“Nissan’s expertise as a pioneer in electric vehicles for public roads, combined with Nismo’s more than 60 years of motorsport innovation, has led to the concept of a unique car. For Nissan, the letter “E” in the abbreviation “EV” also means “Exciting”. Putting this philosophy at the center of everything we do, we created Leaf Nismo RC. It takes all aspects of driving pleasure to a whole new level, ”says the brand’s press service, Michael Carcamo, global director of Nissan Motorsport.
Instant acceleration is a hallmark of not only Leaf Nismo RC, but every Nissan electric. The all-electric powerplant, complemented by the ideally suited Leaf body design and its advanced communication technologies, provides an impressive driving experience. Leaf Nismo RC demonstrates the power and dynamics of electric vehicles, which are one of the key components of the Nissan Intelligent Mobility strategy.
Nissan Leaf e + has approximately 40% increased mileage on a single charge, which fully meets the requirements of a very wide range of consumers. With the introduction of systems such as Nissan ProPILOT and e-Pedal, which allows you to control acceleration and deceleration with just one pedal, Leaf e + provides a new driving experience, giving the driver the ability to start driving, accelerate, slow down and stop with just one accelerator pedal. This gives the driver smoothness and continuity, and also gives the driver maximum control due to the improved responsiveness of the pedal.
“Everyone who has ever driven a Nissan Leaf knows they have incredible driving pleasure,” said Helen Perry, EV Head of Nissan Europe. – Leaf e + gives you even more impressions thanks to a 215-horsepower electric motor and an increased battery, as well as an e-Pedal system. Today, LEAF has become even more impressive. Our customers agree with this, as evidenced by the share of sales of the new model, which reached 20% of the total sales of the Leaf model. ”
