Nissan can electrify GT-R sports carOctober 17, 2018
So far, information about the possible electrification of the Nissan GT-R and the successor to the 300Z sports model has not been officially confirmed.
According to the latest reports of the foreign edition of Top Gear, new versions of the sports models GT-R and 370Z can be electrified. This is very interesting news.
One of the top managers of Nissan, Jean-Pierre Diernaz, told the British newspaper that the Japanese automaker plans to electrify about 40% of the entire model range, which is sold in Europe. It should happen by 2022.
Among these cars may be compact crossovers Qashqai and X-Trail, and sports models GT-R and 370Z.
Mr. Diernaz said: “I do not think that electrification of sports cars will not do them good. It may be quite the opposite – such models will only benefit from this. In the end, the electric motor and battery are much easier to install on any platform than in the case of internal combustion engines. ”
Unfortunately, Jean-Pierre Diernaz did not say so much about the upcoming electrification. He only noted that the new versions of the Nissan GT-R and 300Z models will retain their sporty character.
He also commented on the rumors about participation in the development of future versions of the Nissan GT-R sports car engineers from the sports division of Mercedes-AMG. He separately stressed that the car should remain originally Japanese.
