Nissan built an SUV for tourismApril 19, 2018
In the construction of a tourist camper based on the Armada model, Nissan Truck fans from social networks took part.
The Japanese manufacturer introduced a new tourist project – a special performance of Nissan Armada, called Mountain Patrol. The purpose of the project is to prepare a family SUV for adventures in nature. The debut of the model is planned in a month and Nissan appeals to consumers with a request, for the remaining time to bring the car to the optimum option.
Over the next three weeks, fans can visit @NissanUSATrucks accounts on the social networks Instagram and Facebook to vote in three categories: the tire model, the exterior design (vinyl film), and the awning on the roof. You can use the #MountainPatrol hashtag. The vote will continue until May 10, and the premiere of the Nissan Armada Mountain Patrol will take place at the Overland Expo WEST, which will be held May 18-20 at Fort Tuthill Park near Flagstaff, Arizona.
“If you want to go on a journey through the wild, the Nissan Armada will be an excellent base for this, with impressive off-road capabilities, an excellent level of comfort and a set of Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies,” said Brandon White, marketing director for Nissan North America. “With the help of enthusiasts from Nissan Truck, Armada Mountain Patrol will become a solid foundation and transformed into an excellent tourist vehicle equipped with the latest technology, with a high level of comfort for travelers and tools that will safely participate in any adventure.”
The Mountain Patrol version is based on the standard flagship Nissan Armada 2018 model year, under the hood of which is the V-shaped eight Endurance VK56VD in volume 5.6 liters with a capacity of 390 hp and 543 Nm in combination with a 7-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. Recall, Armada is a revised version of the global Patrol model for the North American market. The car is capable of towing a trailer weighing up to 3,855 kg, and the cabin can accommodate from five to eight people.
By the way, in the second half of 2016, sales of Nissan Armada of the second generation were launched in the United States market, which positively affected the sales of a large family SUV. If in 2016 the sales volume of the car was 14 035 units, in 2017 the company managed to sell 35 667 cars.
