Nissan built an electric camperJune 6, 2018
Nissan brought two cars for travel to the regional auto show in Madrid. The white-lime camper is made on the basis of a compact minivan NV200, red-white – based on a larger model NV300. And the first can be ordered in the form of an electric vehicle.
Both cars – the so-called light camper: a small kitchen block with a built-in refrigerator, gas stove and a compact sink is mounted inside the serial minibus on the port side. Behind – a wardrobe. The roof rises so that inside you can stand in full growth, and the rear row seats are laid out on the bed. Another sleeping place can be arranged in the “attic”, under the raised section of the roof. Similar cars under the brand name California produce Volkswagen; a number of specialized firms are engaged in similar alterations.
In Spain, such a camper can be purchased from any Nissan dealer: the conversion of the machines with the approval of the local representation is handled by Bram Tecnologies of Catalonia.
The mini-bus e-NV200 even with a large battery with a capacity of 40 kilowatt-hours can drive only 280 kilometers per charge. Then you have to make a long stop. In this case, even at powerful CHAdeMO charging stations, charging up to 80 percent will take forty minutes.
Nissan e-NV200 is the electric version of the small commercial van NV200. The body of the conventional NV200 is supplemented with a front suspension and all the units from the electric car Nissan Leaf – 109-strong electric motor and battery. During last year’s upgrade, the capacity of the lithium-ion battery was increased from 30 to 40 kilowatt-hours. Thanks to this, the power reserve increased from 170 to 280 kilometers. And under the name Nissan NV300 the van Renault Trafic of the third generation with another front bumper hides.
