Nissan announced the appearance of a new serial crossoverMarch 16, 2018
Nissan plans to develop a serial version of the conceptual crossover called IMX, which was first shown at the Tokyo Motor Show last October. This is reported by Autocar with reference to the head of the European design studio Mamoru Aoki. According to him, car production will begin in a few years.
“IMX is not just a concept. In a few years he will appear in production. Of course, we have a new Leaf, but I think that the serial version of IMX will be a real breakthrough, ” – the designer said.
He added that the design and most technical features of the prototype will inherit the serial version of the crossover. The car will be built on the basis of a second-generation Leaf electric car and will be equipped with an electric power plant. All other details about the car so far are kept secret.
The prototype was completed with two electric motors mounted on each axis. The total capacity of the IMX concept is 423 horsepower. The power reserve at the crossover is 600 kilometers.
Also, the prototype received an autonomous system Propilot. When it is activated, the steering wheel is retracted into the dashboard, and the driver’s seat can be folded away for a more comfortable ride.
