Nissan again showed the global crossover KicksMay 14, 2020
The Japanese brand continues to declassify a compact SUV that has turned into a hybrid.
Nissan Kicks has been produced since 2016 and can be purchased in many markets, including China and the United States. But a restyled version will be presented in Thailand this Friday, May 15. A local teaser video and a fuzzy image of the stern were published by the local division of Nissan a few days ago, but now on the Thai brand’s portal, fresh pictures are visible, and the interior is finally lit.
It is worth recalling that Thailand will not only be the first cross-country market with a new design, but also the first state to offer hybrid Kicks. The SUV received the e-Power installation, known for the compact Note and the Serena minivan: the gasoline unit is not connected to the wheels, it works only as an electric generator, while the electric motor rotates the wheels. The characteristics of the hybrid Nissan Kicks are still hidden. In Japan, the standard Note e-Power, for example, is driven by an “aspirated” HR12DE 1.2 with a return of 79 hp. (103 Nm) and an EM57 electric unit with a peak performance of 109 hp (254 Nm).
If we talk about the exterior, the Nissan Kicks completely redesigned the front: the radiator grill became wider, the model also got new LED headlights and a more aggressive bumper with “gills” in which the fogs were hidden. The taillights retained their shape, but they replaced the “stuffing” – added LED V-shaped brake lights. Inside, almost without new things – the display of the multimedia system seems to be enlarged (but not a fact), blue accents have appeared.
