Nissan 300ZX raced in GTO class will be sold at auctionAugust 29, 2020
A unique lot has appeared at Stratas Auctions – the Nissan 300ZX Turbo, which took part in the racing races of the IMSA GTO top class championship. From 1989 to 1995, these cars were driven by the pilots of the Clayton Cunningam Racing team.
The car with chassis number 002 is equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 biturbo engine. According to some reports, its performance was close to 700 hp. Power is transmitted to the rear axle via a 5-speed manual transmission.
During the racing life, cars have been modernized more than once. In the late 1980s, the car acquired an extended wheelbase for better stability and a water-cooled braking system, in 1992 it was equipped with passenger seats, and then sold. Then the car began to take part in historic racing races. In 2008, the car was repainted in the original 3-color livery, and new ones were installed instead of worn out elements.
The car comes with a spare engine and original turbines (the car was equipped with more modern Garrett). After the sale, the old owner will help the new car set up.
The date of the auction and the estimated cost of the car are currently unknown.
In addition, it was recently noted that the 83-year-old coupe of the Bugatti brand will be sold at auction. As highlighted on the sellers’ web portal, the current owner of the rarity purchased the vehicle in an “abandoned” state.
