Nio ES6: the new electric crossover will receive 536 hp and 510 km rangeDecember 16, 2018
The Korean company Nio is preparing for the debut of its second electric vehicle – the ES6 crossover, and now the car has been completely declassified and the characteristics are revealed. A special feature was the power reserve of up to 510 km and 536 horsepower power from two motors.
Shanghai-based Nio has removed the curtains from its second production electric car, an all-electric SUV. ES6 marks the entry of Nio into a more accessible market segment, which theoretically should significantly increase brand sales. Moreover, the company itself speaks about its model as nothing more than a “powerful, intelligent, electric long-distance utility vehicle”.
As the power unit uses a twin-engine layout with a total capacity of up to 536 horsepower. Of course, two engines suggest an intelligent all-wheel drive system. Another feature is the use of a synchronous motor for 215 forces, paired with a powerful asynchronous motor for 322 forces.
A less powerful engine acts as the main motor at low speeds, and the second is activated when using all-wheel drive, increasing the load or speed. The promised course range is 510 km, provided with a 84 kWh battery.
The cost is still unknown, but in addition, we say that the body of an SUV is completely made of aerospace aluminum, and some of the structural elements of the chassis are made of high-strength carbon fiber.
Meanwhile, the Nio ES8 electric crossover is one of the few who grew out of the concept into a production car. Nio announced the launch of mass production.
