Nightmare pickup: six-wheeled Mercedes X-Class CustomDecember 15, 2018
Carlex Design decided to launch a new series of renderers, and then real projects. The debut work was the “nightmarish” Mercedes X-Class Custom with six wheels, a carbon fiber body.
Mercedes X-Class can become a really “cool” SUV thanks to experts from the studio Carlex Design and Pickup Design. Now experts have presented a series of render images of the future “nightmarish” pickup. In the future, this project will turn into a whole line of unique pickups. While the car exists only in the images.
The Mercedes X-Class Exy Monster X will receive three axles, a carbon body, a unique aggressive body kit, as well as a revision of the power unit. In addition, the truck will receive a significantly extended track and wheel arches, as well as a hood over the windshield with additional searchlights.
Unfortunately, information about the upcoming power unit yet. A standard turbo diesel 3.0-liter V6 engine rated at 258 horsepower and a torque of 550 newton meters may be too weak. Thus, we can expect an engine boost, or a full-scale replacement with a higher power unit. The formula of the drive is also unknown – whether the 6×6 mode will be available.
Date and cost are not reported. It is likely that the first prototype will be visible during 2019.
Meanwhile, BMW has begun work on a “charged” version of the M8, which will be produced in the bodywork: Coupe, Cabrio and Gran Coupe. However, the tuners from Manhart decided to get ahead of the brand and presented their own version of the “charged” coupe M850i.
