New Volkswagen Tayron set an absolute sales recordAugust 20, 2019
The July jump in sales helped this mid-size crossover become China’s most popular SUV of the brand
According to Volkswagen press service, last month, Chinese car dealerships sold over 17 thousand Volkswagen Tayron crossovers, which is the best result since the SUV entered the Celestial Car Market. The interest on the part of the buyers helped the new product bypass previous bestsellers, for example, Nissan X-Trail, Toyota RAV4 and Nissan Qashqai.
Under the hood of the VW Tayron is a two-liter gasoline turbo engine rated at 186 or 220 horsepower, combined with a robotic transmission. The drive can be either front or full.
Buyers of the German cross can count on a digital dashboard with a large display, modern multimedia with an enlarged touchscreen, all-round cameras, optics on LED-matrices and much more. For an extra charge, the crossover will receive a number of useful electronic “assistants”: a blind spot monitoring system, intelligent cruise control with traffic mode in traffic jams, and a collision avoidance system.
A sports version of Tayron with the R-Line prefix in the name is also available for purchase. Such a car is easily distinguished from the standard version by the presence of a body kit, a dimensional spoiler and diffuser, new bumpers, original alloy wheels, as well as improved aerodynamic characteristics. The cost of Volkswagen Tayron in China varies from 188,800 to 319,800 yuan
