New Volkswagen ID.4 will debut in a few weeksAugust 19, 2020
Shortly before the premiere, representatives of the German company shared new teaser images of the car.
The debut of the new Volkswagen ID.4 electric car is getting closer. According to the representatives of the brand, it will take place within the next few weeks. New teaser images of the car appeared, on the basis of which a number of conclusions can be drawn about the appearance. Some of the front end will carry over from the younger model ID.3 – note the fully enclosed radiator grille and similar headlights. But the bumper has become more prominent, the massive air intakes are also striking.
The rest of the exterior details are still kept secret. However, the Ministry of Industry of China has already partially declassified the car – judging by the pictures, the ID.4 will receive a streamlined body shape with a sloping roof. Some technical details about the new product are already known – ID.4 is built on the MEB platform, which allows offering electric vehicles with rear and all-wheel drive systems.
In the rear-wheel drive version, the electric motor is capable of delivering 201 hp. at 310 Nm of torque, and the all-wheel drive modification is capable of delivering 302 hp. at 450 Nm of torque.
Most likely, the Volkswagen ID.4 will not be limited to one type of battery – the version with the maximum capacity will be able to provide a cruising range of 500 km without recharging.
Note that it is the Volkswagen ID.4 that the German brand relies on.
The debut date of the new Volkswagen Tiguan X coupe-like crossover was announced earlier. The car will receive the R Line sports package as standard. Volkswagen is counting on a successful start of sales of new items.
