The new entry-level 143-horsepower Pro electric motor variant drops the base price Volkswagen ID.3 to £ 28,670.
Volkswagen has added a new version of the ID.3 to the lineup, lowering the vehicle’s base price without compromising on the stated range. The Pro electric motor, available as an option on ID.3 Life, Business and Family trims, lowers the model’s base price from £ 29,990 to £ 28,670. It produces 143 hp. and 270 Nm of torque, which the manufacturer proudly claims is 15 Nm more than the 148 PS 1.5 TSI petrol available in models such as the Golf. Acceleration to 100 km / h is carried out in 9.6 seconds.
The declared cruising range is 419-423 km, depending on which of the three configuration options is indicated. The energy consumption of the WLTP is 6.7 km / kWh. The base electric motor still retains the ability to charge up to 80% in 35 minutes with the 100 kW CCS charger. The more powerful ID.3 Pro Performance unit uses a 201 hp electric motor. and a 58 kWh battery that promises acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 7.3 seconds and a range of up to 423 km.
The first samples of these ID.3 variants will arrive at UK dealerships later this month. As with the limited edition First Edition, the entire manufacturing and shipping process is carbon neutral. The Pro is expected to be followed by an even cheaper version with a 45 kWh Pure battery with 125 and 148 hp, as well as the largest Pro S battery at 77 kWh with 201 hp.
