New Vauxhall Mokka equipped with electric motorJune 24, 2020
In addition to a fully electric motor, the new generation car received a highly updated design and modern equipment.
British car brand Vauxhall has unveiled a new generation of the popular Mokka crossover. Details about the new product became known on Wednesday, June 24. The car received dramatic differences from the previous version. The new Mokka is built on the CMP platform, which is the development of the PSA Group. Due to the use of the new platform the car became 120 kg lighter, which provides it with excellent aerodynamics and allows to increase the power reserve. The design has almost completely changed.
Not so long ago, Vauxhall introduced the new Vizor design concept, which is used for new items. It is worth noting the new matrix LED headlights without glare. Representatives of the brand argue that in this segment of the car such lights are used for the first time. In general, the designers managed to create a very stylish car – the front part looks very fresh and modern, the decorative elements were very successfully integrated in the side part, and the image is completed with a two-tone body color.
The developers made the car 125 mm shorter than its predecessor for ease of parking and maneuvering. However, the wheelbase increased by 2 mm. The luggage compartment has retained the previous volume of 350 liters. The interior of the novelty is able to surprise – mainly this concerns the digital instrument panel and the screen of the multimedia complex. They have a curved shape and are under a common visor. Already in the basic version, customers will be able to count on a touch 7.0-inch screen of the multimedia complex, and in the maximum configuration its diagonal increases to 10.0 inches.
Such a system is able to recognize voice commands and support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. To complete the image, Vauxhall completed the gearshift lever and the electronic parking brake. This was important from a design point of view so that there were a minimum of protruding parts in the cabin. An electric engine with a output of 134 hp is used as a power plant. Cruising range without recharging will be 323 kilometers. When using fast charging at 100 kW, the battery is able to gain 80% in just half an hour. It is already known that the novelty will enter the market at the end of the summer of 2020.
