New TVR sports car delayed but not canceledJuly 25, 2020
The TVR Griffith sports car of the new generation will be released no earlier than a year and a half later, although it was originally planned that the debut of the model would take place early last year.
TVR intends to raise £ 25m by listing on the Irish Stock Exchange. At the time of issue, the total investment in Griffith will be approximately 45 million pounds. The company emphasizes that it has collected pre-orders for 40 million pounds since 500 potential buyers took prepayment.
Another reason for the delay is interaction with the local government. The Wales government bought 3% of the company. Partly state ownership obliges the firm to collect applications for refurbishment supplies from all over the EU. As one of the top managers noted, this fact alone slowed down the project for 18 months.
The revived TVR Griffith will receive an upgraded 5.0-liter Ford V8 engine. The performance of the motor of the rear-wheel drive sports car will be 500 hp. The brand expects to produce up to 2,000 cars a year.
In addition, it was recently reported that the British company Jaguar unveiled the name for the future electric sports car. There is currently no information on the technical characteristics of the upcoming new model.
