New Toyota Urban Cruiser cheaper than Hyundai Creta caused a stir among buyersOctober 26, 2020
Acceptance of orders for a new cross began at the end of September, and a decent queue has already stretched out for the car.
The Japanese company Toyota at the end of September announced the start of accepting orders for the new Urban Cruiser crossover. During this period, the new product has already collected more than 10 thousand pre-orders. At the moment, the car can only be purchased in India, but in 2021 the model will become global.
Note that one of the attractive qualities is the price of the car – for the basic version, dealers ask for $11500. For example, this is 12% cheaper than the Hyundai Creta, which is seen as a major competitor. Recall that the Toyota Urban Cruiser is a slightly modified version of the Suzuki Vitara Brezza crossover.
The two Japanese companies agreed on the possibility of using each other’s developments. The car has turned out to be very compact to reduce the tax rate – with a length of 3,995 mm, its wheelbase is 2,500 mm.
The power plant is a 1.5-liter engine with 105 hp, which is complemented by a 48-volt starter-generator. 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission works in tandem with the engine, depending on the selected configuration. From the technical equipment, we note alloy wheels with a diameter of 17 inches, a modern multimedia system and a rear view camera.
Earlier it became known that the Toyota Corolla Cross crossover can reach the European car market. This conclusion can be made after the publication of photographs in the patent office. Note that now the car is sold exclusively in the Asian market.
