New Toyota crossovers shown on patent imagesJune 23, 2020
China’s National Patent Office has posted images of two Toyota electric crossovers based on the e-TNGA platform.
The network has images of two new models of the Toyota brand. The announced electric cars may well be conceptual, and the automaker prepares a patent for them just in case. However, the chances of entering the series for these new products are still very high.
Recall that in the next five years Toyota is going to introduce more than ten electric cars, including sedans, minivans and crossovers. Remembering the brand’s new strategy, experts are waiting for the appearance of patented new products for several years.
One of the cars, apparently, is a mid-size crossover with three rows of seats. He got the L-shaped headlights in the spirit of the Toyota Prius, as well as cameras instead of rear-view mirrors on the top of the front pillars. This “green” SUV does not have traditional door handles.
The second model looks like a compact SUV, which receives dimensional plastic lining on the wheel arches. The glazing area is very modest, and ordinary mirrors are again replaced by cameras.
The drive for future innovations can be either rear or front, or full, and they will be built on the e-TNGA “cart”. This is a TNGA architecture redone for electrical models.
Meanwhile, the Chinese company Zotye also patented the novelty. Probably, on the images that hit the Network, we see a new generation of the E200 electric crossover.
