A new-generation sedan has gotten a combined gas-powered unit borrowed from the Prius model.
Toyota has introduced a hybrid version of the new generation Corolla sedan. The official premiere of the novelty took place in the framework of the motor show in Los Angeles.
The Corolla borrowed a hybrid powertrain from the Prius model. It includes a 1.8-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine, two electric generators, a CVT, and a set of nickel-metal hydride batteries installed under the rear seats. The aggregate return of the aggregates was 122 horsepower.
The driver is available in three driving modes: Eco, Normal and Sport. In the latter case, the system provides maximum engine performance for the fastest possible acceleration. Electric power is partially replenished due to the regeneration system during braking.
The sedan received 15-inch alloy wheels with low rolling resistance, as well as a set of auxiliary safety systems Sense with adaptive cruise control, frontal collision warning system, the function of adhering to the number of movements and the recognition of road signs.
Earlier, the standard Corolla sedan was introduced. The model is based on the TNGA modular chassis, which is already in use, for example, in the Prius and CH-R. Depending on the market, the 1.8-liter and 2.0-liter gasoline engines will enter the sedan’s engine range, developing 140 and 170 hp, respectively.
