The audit was carried out according to the rules of the Asian rating ASEAN NCAP. As a result, the car was recognized as safe in all respects.
The new Toyota Corolla Cross crossover recently appeared in the East Asian market. The results of his security check on the ASEAN NCAP system became known. In this case, the assessment is made according to two parameters – a frontal impact at a speed of 64 km / h with an overlap of 40% and a side impact by a moving platform.
For testing, they took the basic version, in which seven airbags, ABS, ESP, automatic braking and lane control systems are responsible for safety. The mass of such a car is 1,430 kilograms.
As a result, the safety of the driver and front passenger was rated at 33.01 points out of 36, the car received 44.35 points out of 49 for the safety of children, and preventive safety technologies received 14.5 points with a maximum of 18.
Thus, with an overall result of 88.61 points, the crossover received a maximum rating of 5 stars.
The only drawback was the safety of the driver’s right shin, which was rated “satisfactory”.
Earlier, the new Toyota Yaris hatchback was tested for safety. The audit was carried out according to the updated regulations, which impose more stringent requirements. Despite this, the car did an excellent job and received a maximum rating of 5 stars.
