New technology will allow you to charge your phone from anywhere in your carJanuary 9, 2020
Yank Technologies, one of the participants in the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, showed what the future of car wireless charging might look like.
Today, many automakers offer Qi wireless chargers. At Yank, they decided to make this technology more versatile. They used three-dimensional antenna arrays and advanced amplifiers to get the opportunity to charge gadgets from anywhere in the car. The technology is completely wireless and does not require physical contact between the smartphone and the charger, writes the foreign portal carscoops.com. All that is required is for the phone to support wireless charging or for the wireless charging adapter to be connected to the device.
New from Yank allows you to charge multiple devices at the same time, and can also be used to power the built-in components of the car, for example, electric mirrors.
Those who fear harm from the radio waves used in the charging system were reassured by Yank Technologies: their system, which offers 30 watts of charging power, emits only 0.06 watts per kilogram of radio wave radiation. For comparison, the same mobile phone during a conversation emits from 1.1 to 1.5 watts per kilogram. If modern phones work with Wi-Fi, then the new Yank technology deals with the ISM [megahertz] low frequency range.
“The higher the frequency, the higher the levels of your electric field, and, in turn, the more harmful the radiation pattern becomes. Thus, despite the fact that we transmit more energy than the telephone, the new system is safer in terms of exposure, ”the company emphasized.
