Refreshed compact SUV Suzuki Vitara is already available in some European countries. The model has changed the exterior design and a new petrol motor has appeared.

The appearance of the restyled Vitara Japanese brand declassified in July this year. Crossover received a new radiator grille with vertical wedges in the style of Suzuki SX4 and another front bumper, the rear lights changed the “stuffing”. Also the palette of colors of a body has been expanded, disks of a new design are added.

In the summer Suzuki distributed only one photo of the salon of the freshened model, on which the modernized “assembly” was imprinted (new graphics, a large color display appeared in the middle). Now full-featured images of the interior are published. Although, in addition to the “dashboard”, in the cabin of the updates only another upholstery of seats and a different substrate for the clock, located between the central air deflectors. However, in Suzuki still promise a softer plastic front panel.

For the model there are systems for automatic emergency braking, monitoring of “blind” zones, hold in the band, warning of interference when reversing, as well as a system for recognizing traffic signs.

The main innovation of the European version of the Vitara is the petrol turbocharger 1.0 Boosterjet (112 hp, 170 Nm), already familiar with the latest SX4 and Swift. From the line of Vitara, this engine displaced the “atmospheric” M16A 1.6 (120 hp, 156 Nm). Turbo four 1.4 Boosterjet capacity of 140 hp (220 Nm) remained in the ranks. A liter turbo engine is combined with a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission, the engine 1.4 is paired with 6MKP or 6KKP. The drive in both cases is front or full.

In some European countries, a 1.6 DDiS diesel engine (120 hp, 320 Nm) was still provided for the pre-reform SUV, but the updated cross-engine on heavy fuel was apparently lost. So, the diesel version disappeared from the sites of the Spanish and Italian divisions of Suzuki. By the way, in the July release of Suzuki about diesel there was not a word.

Public premiere of the updated Suzuki Vitara will be held in October at the Paris Motor Show, however in Europe orders for the model here and there are already accepted. For example, in the same Italy, a restyling crossover costs from 20 980 euros – by 1720 euros less than asking for a pre-reform cross. In the Netherlands, SUV costs from 21,999 euros – this, on the contrary, is 200 euros more expensive than its predecessor. “Live” sales should start in mid-October.
