New SsangYong Rexton 2021 gets massive grilleOctober 20, 2020
The updated SsangYong Rexton, which is due to debut on November 4, was opened to the public today. The famous Korean SsangYong Rexton received a completely new design, really rich equipment and several point, but important changes in the “technique”.
SsangYong has launched a teaser campaign dedicated to the new generation of the Rexton crossover. From the first images, we learned that the official presentation of the model will take place on November 4 this year. According to some experts, not a new generation awaits us, but simply a deep restyling of the model.
The pictures show an 8-angle grille, matrix headlights in expensive trim levels, different bumpers and completely new body shapes. The taillights are now without a “step” – in the form of an ellipse, a light marker in the shape of the letter T appeared in them. The designers did not touch the stamped steel parts of the body.
The interior of the new car has acquired a four-spoke steering wheel and an updated multimedia system with a large 12.3-inch touchscreen. A premium diamond pattern has been added to the upholstery. Instead of a mechanically moved automatic transmission lever, a compact electronic selector is now used.
As for the filling, it is expected that the engine range of the model will be replenished with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine, and the “old” 2.2-liter turbodiesel will develop 202 hp. power versus 187 hp earlier. In the steering gear, the hydraulic booster is replaced by an electric one. This made it possible to equip Rexton with a complex of driver assistance systems – adaptive cruise control, car park operator, lane control. In addition, the car received a set of warning systems – control of blind spots, lateral movement behind the car, movement along for safe disembarkation when stopping at the edge of the carriageway.
Now SsangYong Rexton is equipped with only a 2.2-liter diesel engine, rear or all-wheel drive and a 7-speed automatic transmission.
