New spy photos of Mercedes-Benz GLBAugust 15, 2018
Spy pictures of the new GLB crossover appeared before, and even without camouflage, but there was not much to see on them. The latest shots allow a much better look at the bodywork of the new Mercedes SUV. The novelty will occupy a niche between the sporting GLA and the larger GLC, as soon as it appears on the market.
The square shape of the car will increase the interior space and overall practicality, which will also have a positive effect on the future sports GLA. The five-seater cross is built on the same platform as the hatch A-Class – MFA2. It is assumed that the manufacturer will be able to offer seven seats as an option. Earlier it was reported that Mercedes endowed the cross with the alias “mini G-Class”, although in general it looks more like a “wrinkled” GLS.
It is expected that the performance of the interior will also be borrowed from the hatchback, which means a panel with two screens, which is a combination of instruments and a new multimedia system MBUX. It looks futuristic and at the same time is premium.
The engine range will reflect the A-Class range, which means a wide choice of diesel and gasoline engines in Europe. US customers will be offered only gasoline engines, in addition, Mercedes also plans to bring an electrified version. Earlier it was reported that GLB is set to receive at least two versions of AMG – GLB 35 and GLB 45.
Mercedes-Benz GLB 2019 will be produced at the facilities of a new plant in Mexico (JV Daimler and Nissan). There will also be an American A-Class sedan. It is expected that Mercedes will introduce a new GLB by the end of the year, and sales will begin in 2019.
