New Skoda Octavia RS had an accident before the official presentationSeptember 5, 2019
No one was hurt, but the cars need serious repairs.
We got a new batch of spy shots with the next-generation Skoda Octavia RS Combi. Unfortunately, we must report that the prototype head-on collided with the Opel Zafira. According to the photographers, the driver of the car was not attentive during the lane change and eventually crashed into Skoda. Both drivers are fine, but we cannot say the same about cars.
The fourth-generation Skoda Octavia was previously seen in liftback and station wagon bodies, but not in the “charged” version of the RS that we see here.
From a horizontal strip of fog lights in the front to dual exhaust tips at the rear, this is definitely the Octavia RS. Other features that we are dealing with in the powerful version include larger brakes and tighter suspension settings, while the voluminous front air intake further indicates that it is a Rally Sport version.
It is expected that the novelty will receive a hybrid power plant. Thanks to this, the car will not only have more power than the current model with 242 hp. and 370 Nm of torque, but also reduce fuel consumption and emissions.
Meanwhile, Skoda has confirmed that the updated Octavia will debut before the end of the year to celebrate the brand’s 60th anniversary. As for the RS modification, it most likely will not appear in Europe until the end of 2020 or the beginning of 2021.
