New Skoda Octavia debuts on November 11September 27, 2019
The debut of the fourth generation of the budget Czech sedan was already postponed, but the company was assured that the date is now accurate.
Recall, it was previously assumed that the new generation of the Octavia liftback will be presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show, which opened its doors in mid-September, but this did not happen. The AutoTimesNews received information that it was decided to organize a separate event for Octavia, where journalists from around the world will be invited and at which Skoda can immediately show both the liftback and the station wagon.
Skoda Octavia is going to receive extensive updates with a change of generation. Based on the spy shots of the new Octavia, IAB experts have developed renders of the future model of the new generation.
It is expected that the model will receive a completely new design. Skoda Octavia 2020 will be created on the updated version of the MQB platform. Instead of the old design with two-level front optics, the new Octavia received solid headlights. In addition, LED technology will be used on both front and rear optics. Moreover, in the top-end versions, the Skoda Octavia will be equipped with Matrix LED headlights, as in the Skoda Superb.
On the tailgate, instead of the Skoda logo, a large “Skoda” sign will now be placed, which is similar to the design of the Chinese Skoda Kodiaq GT. This new style will add elegance and luxury to the new Octavia. The model’s interior, which will receive premium finishing materials, will also be transformed.
Skoda Octavia will receive a wide selection of powertrains. The sedan is expected to be equipped with a turbocharged 1.5-liter TSI gasoline engine and a 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine. A little later, the automaker will begin selling the hybrid version of its model.
