New Porsche Macan may become four-engine
December 5, 2019At the moment, the most powerful Porsche electric car is the Taycan Turbo S 2020 model year. However, the release of Macan can make a real revolution.
Representatives of the company Porsche said that they are currently developing a new revolutionary electric car. We are talking about the Macan model, in which it is planned to use four electric motors at once. Interestingly, such a power unit will appear on an SUV, and not on a sports coupe. The purpose of such a motor is by no means a serious increase in power, but control over handling. Each of the four engines will be individually controlled, and not just rely on data from different systems.
This approach will greatly increase safety when driving in rain and snow and make management in dry weather more comfortable.
The advantage of the new development is that the torque can now be redistributed at the software level, and not just physically. Porsche has not yet made a statement as to when we will see this revolutionary engine. However, there is reason to believe that this will happen in 2021, when the all-electric Macan crossover should enter the market.
