New Porsche 911 GTS will receive Targa versionAugust 19, 2020
The Porsche 911 will of course appear again as a GTS version, and the German automaker is sure to build all sports car variants, including the Targa, which was first spotted during testing.
With the Turbo, Turbo S and soon the GTS versions, the Porsche 911 range is replenished again. The GTS is a version that is again in the lineup below the Turbo, but above the Carrera S. Porsche would not be a Porsche if there were a lot of options in these variants, so the GTS comes as a regular closed version, as a convertible and as a Targa. It is the latter that we see for the first time in the open air.
The Porsche 911 GTS Targa differs from the already presented Targa 4 and Targa 4S with a slightly different front bumper, a light gray instead of a red LED strip above the taillights and the same color lamps above the radiator grille. The GTS Targa also features a black bracket rather than a gray one, although this is probably irrelevant.
The biggest difference, of course, is the powerplant. It is expected to produce around 470 hp. in the GTS. The 3.0-liter boxer engine is likely linked to the manual transmission, but it shouldn’t come as a surprise if the PDK automatic transmission is also added to the list. According to autoweek.nl, Porsche will unveil the 911 GTS and its Targa derivative in the next few months.
