New Porsche 911 became speedsterApril 17, 2019
The motor show in New York hosted the premiere of the new generation Porsche 911 sports car with a “speedster” body, which will be released in a limited edition of 1948 copies.
Porsche has introduced a new generation sports car 911 in the body of a speedster. The public premiere of the car, made in the style of the eponymous concept car, was held at the New York Auto Show.
Porsche 911 Speedster equipped with a four-liter inline six-cylinder engine, developing more than 500 hp and 469 Nm of torque. This engine, which is installed on the current extreme supercars 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 RS, has separate throttle bodies, like a 911 GT3 R. racing car.
The unit is combined exclusively with a six-speed manual gearbox. The speedster can accelerate from a standstill to 96 km / h in 3.8 seconds, and its maximum speed is 309 km per hour.
For the sake of facilitating the design, the developers abandoned the air conditioning system and used carbon-fronted front fenders, as well as engine compartment and luggage compartment covers. In addition, the car received carbon-ceramic brakes. The weight of the speedster was 1465 kilograms.
In total, the German company plans to release 1948 of these cars – the number refers to the year when the first speedster of the Porsche 356 appeared.
