New Peugeot 208 GTi will fight with Clio RS, Polo GTI and Fiesta STMarch 9, 2019
Most recently, the French brand introduced a new version of its compact hatchback, featuring a modern and stylish interior and exterior design. Therefore, an independent designer decided to present what a “charged” version of the novelty might look like.
The new Peugeot 208 is a completely different car that does not intersect with the previous version. The hatchback is built on the basis of the modern modular platform PSA (CMP). It features a new design, a revised motor line and standard equipment. The most powerful version now is the all-electric e-208, whose electric motor develops 260 hp (260 Nm of torque). This version is capable of accelerating to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds. This is not bad, but far from the “charged” hatch.
It is already known that Peugeot is going to launch a powerful version of the 208 GTi, and while this has not happened, independent designer Aksenov Nikita presented a preliminary render. Judging by the image, the car will receive a new aerodynamic body kit, alloy wheels, as well as a two-tone body color and interior trim.
At the time of release, the car will compete in the same class with the Renault Clio RS, Ford Fiesta ST and Volkswagen Polo GTI. The last Peugeot 208 GTi boasts a top speed of 230 km / h, acceleration to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds, as well as a 1.6-liter turbo engine with a power of up to 205 forces and 300 Nm of torque.
Exit “charged” new items can be expected next year. The cost is still unknown, as are the preliminary specifications.
