New Opel Corsa was caught by journalistsFebruary 27, 2019
The new version of the German hatchback Opel Corsa will be presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany this September.
After inspecting the stylish Peugeot 208 – official photos were published a couple of days ago, I am now interested to find out what camouflage is hidden from its close relative – the German Opel Corsa. According to available information, the car should appear at the end of this year. I want to note that the observed prototype of the novelty, the photos of which are posted here, seems to have already received its final look.
Despite the heavy camouflage that Opel engineers do not want to remove from the car, it is easy to see that the new Corsa F will be more than the Peugeot 208.
I also expect a different approach when it comes to creating interior design. Thus, the Peugeot i-Cockpit will not be offered to a German colleague.
It is known that Peugeot will sell the updated model 208 with a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged engine with a capacity of 75, 100 and 130 horsepower. The basic version will be connected to a 5-step “mechanics”, whereas a 6 or 8-step “automatic” is available for more expensive equipment. Diesel counterparts will feature a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission. It is possible that some of these units will receive a new Opel Corsa.
Opel has already confirmed that a more environmentally friendly eCorsa will definitely appear in the future. If it looks like an e-208, the electric supermini from the German brand will offer 136 hp. power.
Presentation of new items from Opel will be held in September this year at the Frankfurt Motor Show, although the online show may take place a few weeks before.
