New Nissan Z will become 480-horsepowerMay 5, 2020
The Nissan 370Z is one of the oldest sports cars on the market and therefore needs to be replaced.
Not so long ago, spy shots of a certain Japanese model appeared on the Web, which tells us about the imminent appearance of the updated Nissan Z. The Japanese edition Spyder7 claims that the next-generation model will be called 480Z, which, obviously, will not be connected with the engine displacement, as it was in the case of his predecessors. In other words, do not expect the Nissan 480Z to use a 4.8-liter engine, as the model designation was chosen to demonstrate engine power – 480 hp.
As previously reported, the next Z-family car will borrow a 3.0-liter V6 with two turbines from the Infiniti Q60. According to rumors, the power of the unit will increase by 80 hp. compared to the Q60 Red Sport 400. Torque is not mentioned, but it is 475 Nm in the flagship version of the Infiniti luxury coupe.
Due to the fact that Nissan is experiencing a shortage of funds as a result of weakening sales, it is unlikely that the car will ride on a platform developed from scratch, as this will require significant investment. A separate report, this time from the Japanese Nostalgic Car, is designed to shed light on the design of the car. It would seem that Nissan designers really decided to create a model in retro style, namely, choosing rectangular taillights borrowed from the 300ZX (Z32). A large spoiler is expected to appear in the back. Despite the fact that the sports car may have a retro design, recent trademark applications show that it will also receive updated Nissan and Z logos.
