Japanese engineers are working on the new generation Z, and details about the upcoming sports car are starting to appear.

According to Autoblog, citing several dealers of the brand who saw the model, the new product will have a “predecessor-style design” that goes back to the roots of Z. Information is still limited, but it’s being specified that the model will receive a front panel inspired by old models that resembles the Nissan 240Z . In addition, the car should get a square grille and round headlights. But the rear optics will resemble the lights at 300ZX.

At the same time, the overall shape and silhouette are reported to remain similar to the current model. But the interior will be radically redesigned and a modern infotainment system will appear in it. Finishing materials will become better, but it is not yet known whether the car will have sports notes.

Under the hood, we expect the appearance of a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6. This is not so surprising, since Infiniti already has a similar unit that develops 400 horsepower. and a torque of 474 Nm. A couple of the power plant will be an automatic transmission with nine speeds, but the appearance of a manual transmission is not excluded. This is evidenced by the Project Clubsport 23 concept presented at SEMA in 2018. It had a turbocharged twin-cylinder 3.0-liter VR30DDTT V6 engine combined with a six-speed 370Z Nismo manual transmission.

But the most interesting thing is the version of Nismo, which, according to rumors, can get a power of about 500 hp. Of course, there is not a word about the specifications of the car, and this number – like everything else – should be skeptical.
