May 30, 2019The mileage of the mid-engine rally hatchback is 11 kilometers
Auction house Silverstone Auctions will put up for sale a mid-engine MG Metro 6R4 hatchback with a mileage of just 11 kilometers. The car was built for the homologation of the group B rally car and is still covered with special protective wax.
In fact, the new MG Metro 6R4 will be offered at the Silverstone Classic auction, which will be held from July 26 to 28 of this year in the UK. This is 189 copies of the road hatchback of 200. The name indicates the number of cylinders, layout and transmission: in the back of the base is installed 3.0-liter V6, combined with a five-speed manual transmission, the drive is full. In the rally specification, the unit gave out 416 horsepower, but on the homologation versions its output was only 253 hp.
This copy of MG Metro 6R4 was purchased in early December 1986 directly from Austin Rover Group Ltd. The car stood for a long time without moving, and from 1996 to 2002 was exhibited at the Donington Museum. The current owner bought a hatchback 17 years ago and drove only three kilometers. The car is sold in its original condition: with bolted unpainted panels and assembly instructions.
Preliminary price MG Metro 6R4 not reported. In December last year, a hatchback with a mileage of 282 kilometers was estimated at 180-200 thousand pounds sterling
