New Mercedes-Benz S-Class recalls a couple of months after the start of productionJanuary 23, 2021
The release of the new generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class W223 was launched in September last year, but Daimler AG has already announced the start of the first recall campaign of the model due to a factory defect.
It should be said that this service campaign was an unpleasant surprise, since the S-Class has always been considered the standard of quality and prestige among all production cars.
As Business Insider informs, 1400 new S-Class were recalled, it is due to the high risk of malfunction of the internal steering rods, which can cause serious problems with control. Parts will be replaced free of charge. The German concern sent letters to the owners, which say about the need to visit the brand’s service centers for repair work. The German corporation says that the S-Class batch could be equipped with inadequate quality internal steering rods.
The component is delivered to the Mercedes-Benz plant in a pre-assembled form and assembled in a finished form, in other words, we are talking about the fault of the supplier. The S-Class W223 is produced at the Factory 56 car plant in Germany; before the launch of this car, the company invested 730 million euros in the re-equipment.
In addition, some time ago it was noted that a one-of-a-kind Mercedes-Benz 300SL Speedster was demonstrated on the Internet. It should be emphasized that this was the debut sports car of the post-war period.
