New mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe: fresh teaser and debut dateAugust 27, 2019
Yesterday, automotive media published pictures of the new Mercedes GLE Coupe with minimal camouflage, wondering about the date of the official premiere. A few hours ago, the brand management finally announced the treasured figures: 08/28/2019
Mercedes-Benz will present the new GLE Coupe tomorrow, August 28th. This was reported in a teaser, which the German brand posted on its Facebook page. In a short video, “Date of Birth” is indicated on 08/28/2019. The pre-premiere teaser turned out to be uninformative: the new Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe, in addition to the sloping roof, will differ in the shape of the rear lights from the usual crossover. But yesterday’s spy shots were more generous in detail.
It is also known that the GLE Coupe increased its wheelbase by 80 mm, which made it more spacious. Among the innovations, it is worth mentioning the active air suspension E-Active Body Control, which adjusts the shock absorbers, adapting to the road conditions, individually on each wheel.
But the engine range of the new GLE Coupe is unlikely to be a serious upgrade. It will include a 2.9-liter six-cylinder diesel with a capacity of 272 or 330 horsepower, a three-liter 367-horsepower turbo engine, as well as a four-liter V8 with a return of 490 hp. In addition, a modification with a 48-volt starter-generator is expected, which will be distinguished by a more economical fuel consumption.
