The German supercar was again presented on renderings.

Almost every supercar in the history of automotive industry is remembered. However, there are a few cars that go beyond just impressions. It seems that the 20-year span from the mid-1980s to the mid-2000s was ripe for such creations, including what inspired these images of Georgy Bozhkov that appeared on Bēhance.net.

Of course, we are talking about the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. Appeared in the early 2000s, when McLaren and Mercedes were still in business, a car enthusiast might not immediately guess the model. The mile-long bonnet with an F1-style design hides a 5.4-liter supercharged V8 producing 617 horsepower. This combination of design and power has elevated the SLR McLaren to cult status, and it still has a big impact on designers.

Of course, such a model would fit perfectly in the modern world. The designer calls his project the Mercedes-Benz SLR-AMG Vision Concept, and it’s not just an old car with a few changes.

The images show the car from all sides, and also gives some idea of how he created this modern supercar. The inspiration came mostly from the SLR, but it also included classic Mercedes design replicas of the 1950s and 1960s. This, of course, is a striking design with a long hood and modern headlights, and the German flag integrated into the air vents of the wings is a very cool touch.

This design takes the form of an idea finely tuned over a period of time. This is because it has been developed for a long time – two years, to be exact. Bozhkov says that he started by sketching by hand back in 2018 and gradually turned them into what you see here. You will also be surprised to learn that he does not have experience or training in the field of automotive design. He is a talented 3D artist who loves cars and is undoubtedly inspired by the SLR McLaren.
