New megastation in Shanghai will be able to refuel hydrogen cars in three minutesJune 10, 2019
It is planned that such a gas station will produce up to two tons of hydrogen every day – this is enough to serve thousands of cars. Also, a new gas station will supply smaller stations with hydrogen.
A unique hydrogen station will appear in China, which will be able to refuel a car in just three minutes. Plans for the construction of such a “mega-station”, which will be able to serve thousands of vehicles every day, are being hatched by the Shanghai authorities. It is known that the new infrastructure facility will be located in the industrial park of Shanghai. The choice for this place was not at all accidental: local enterprises produce hydrogen as a by-product, which will also get to the station after preliminary “treatment” (purification and compression).
The area of the new refueling will be 8,000 square meters. This is enough to supply over two tons of hydrogen on a daily basis. It is planned that the new station will provide smaller stations with hydrogen, located in a radius of 50-100 kilometers.
Recall that in China the development of hydrogen infrastructure is given special attention. So, by the year 2030 more than 500 environmentally friendly gas stations are going to be built in this country.
Meanwhile, in the China created a hydrogen hatchback with an incredible power reserve – more than 1,000 kilometers! According to preliminary forecasts, the new series will be released next year.
