New low-cost SUV from Volkswagen for the first time caught by photo spiesSeptember 30, 2019
Volkswagen has launched its new budget coupe crossover for road trials. The Brazilian brand division worked on its creation. However, the novelty will be selected outside this country, having received global status.
On the roads of Brazil, a test prototype of the new Volkswagen cross-coupe was captured: they managed to photograph the camouflaged novelty in Sao Paulo. The protective film and the limited angle make it difficult to see the cross-shaped cross in detail, but still manage to get some information. Novika gets a massive spoiler on the tailgate, roof rails and a protective plastic body kit around the entire perimeter of the body. There is no information about the technical “stuffing” of the new SUV. According to the forecasts of auto experts, he will receive a modular MQB A0 as a platform, on which the “European” Polo hatchback, the T-Cross compact cross and the Brazilian Virtus sedan are based.
It follows that the novelty can acquire engines from VW Polo: in the Brazilian market, this model receives two “aspirated” for one and 1.6 liters with a capacity of 75 and 110 hp, as well as a liter 116-horsepower “turbo-engine”. For the role of the transmission, the manufacturer chose a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.
The inexpensive cross-coupe has no name yet, unofficially it is called the “New Urban Coupe”. According to one version, the new product may be called T-Sport – the brand registered this name several weeks ago. The South American version of the new cross-coupe will get on the conveyor of the Brazilian Volkswagen plant, but crossovers for Europe are likely to “fit in” at the enterprise in Spain. The start of production and sales should not be expected before 2021.
