New Land Rover Defender 2020 photos publishedJanuary 16, 2019
Work on the iconic British SUV continues. According to representatives of the company, sales of the receiver of the legend are scheduled for 2020.
Engineers of the prestigious Land Rover brand are busy working on the triumphant return of the legendary SUV Defender. We have already seen several prototypes tested on public roads, and this “fresh” series of “spyware” photos shows another test machine.
So, we have a 5-door version of the Land Rover Defender SUV, previously our publication published a version of the car with 3 doors. This time, the test prototype is equipped with another set of alloy wheels. It seems that the British automaker is experiencing some kind of regenerative braking on the front axle, because small additional sensors are attached to the brake disc.
It is possible that before us is nothing more than a hybrid version of the car. But apparently at this very early stage of testing nothing can be said for sure.
Even if it is a truly electrified vehicle, it is clearly not purely electric, since there is a huge exhaust at the rear. Immediately after the exhaust, it seems, there is a retractable hitch.
A large amount of camouflage does not allow us to look at the appearance of the British legend’s receiver, but we dare to believe that this prototype wears serial headlights and taillights. We know for sure that the square SUV will get a design that is more optimized to enhance the aerodynamic characteristics of the body.
It is known that the new Defender 2020 has received a fully independent suspension. This should provide better ride quality, as well as improve the overall handling of the car. It is rumored that in some markets a version will be offered, under the hood of which a modern diesel engine is installed, a hybrid version of Defender will also be presented.
Not so long ago, we wrote that the British company Jaguar Land Rover will cut 4,500 jobs.
