New Lamborghini Countach sold outAugust 19, 2021
Like many other limited edition supercars, the Lamborghini Countach has an impressively high price tag that doesn’t seem to shock anyone.
The Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 was unveiled this month in some stunning images showing it alongside the original from the 70s. It not only combines the best of Aventador and Sian with retro styling, but its appeal is further enhanced by the fact that only 112 Countachs will be built (the original internal designation for the Countach during development was “LP-112”). Despite its prohibitive cost (reportedly over € 2 million), the supercar is attracting even more interest from the wealthy, and it’s no surprise that all 112 have been sold.
The news shows that those with fat pockets are willing to pay for excellence and for waiting, as the Countach will ship to customers sometime in the first three months of next year. These happy buyers will get their hands on a new modern classic with a V12 plug-in hybrid powertrain that develops over 800 horsepower, although that power will likely never be fully utilized – at least on public roads.
Fortunately, buyers of the 2022 Countach will have other, safer vehicle features, including the use of the Stile button in the cabin. Stile is Italian for design, and pressing this button will activate a presentation explaining the Countach’s design philosophy. But as interesting and exciting as the new Countach is, it is certain that some of these vehicles will be up for auction shortly after delivery.
