New Kia Soul is safer than oldJune 26, 2019
The new generation of Soul has become much safer than the previous one, whose assessment was only “acceptable”.
The new Kia Soul has finally passed a series of crash tests at the US Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The results are impressive. Subcompact urban crossover received the highest score Top Safety Pick + and has become much safer than the previous generation.
The main reason for the higher score was improved crash test results with a slight overlap on the passenger side. The new model now has a rating of “good”, and not “acceptable”, which was the old generation of Soul. In other tests, the new Soul also received the highest rating – “good.”
Soul received the highest rating for the work of the collision avoidance system. The system worked perfectly at speeds up to 40 km / h. It should be noted that the system of automatic emergency braking is not available in all trim levels of the vehicle, as is the pedestrian detection system.
LED lights also rated “good”, which helped Soul to get the maximum safety rating. Unfortunately, halogen headlights have received only a rating of “bad.” The assessment of children’s seat mounts remained unchanged – “acceptable”.
