New Kia Sorento debuts February 17thJanuary 27, 2020
The official presentation of the long-awaited crossover will be held at home in South Korea.
The current Sorento has been around for almost six years and is about to change a generation. According to the latest information, KIA will not represent the mid-size SUV to the world public, and the updated model will make its debut at the event in South Korea on February 17, and then the acceptance of orders will begin. By the way, a similar decision was made by Hyundai’s sister brand regarding its first premium Genesis GV80 SUV.
It is known that the second frame SUV of the South Korean brand Mohave (Borrego) received updates and is still sold at home. To some extent, both SUVs intersect in the KIA line for the domestic market, but Sorento is more oriented towards luxury, while Mohave is more off-road. The former is more refined and sophisticated, while the latter is slightly larger and has a more “brutal” appearance.
KIA has already confirmed that the next Sorento will be available with hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains, which may be followed by a hydrogen fuel cell option. Meanwhile, the big debut will take place in three weeks, so the wait is almost over.
